Soft Skills, A need of Society – A Career guidance Seminar conducted with Credent TV – Jul 2021

Education is no longer limited to the closed auditorium or classroom walls. The lockdowns in our country got people to look outward to cater to their learning needs. The growth of online learning platforms has made every educator to integrate blended methods to reach out to students and upskill themselves beyond the classrooms. Career guidance seminar is no such exception; much gratitude to Credent TV who conducted Shiksha Sarohar season 2 – a show of Career Counselling Seminar exclusively streamed for the aspiring college students of Grade 10 and 12 on 7th July 2021 on the TV platform.

A Live talk Show was exclusively conducted on the topic – Soft Skills – a need of society – emphasizing that communication skills are extremely important even if you are a student or a professional seeking success in their personal and professional spheres. Dipti Deepak, Founder Director, Nirmiti Academy, Soft Skills expert, and a Motivational Speaker was invited to share her point of view of a Soft Skills Coach in a panel discussion that was hosted by Credent Host, Mr. Sunil Narnaulia. She extended her views on how Soft Skills way to building a successful career and value system.

Some of the key insights were drawn by the panel members:

What are Soft skills and how they are different from hard skills?

Why soft skills are so important in life, especially the workplace?

What is the importance of soft skills for job seekers?

Is there any age to start learning these skills?

Some insight on soft skills that students should develop to thrive in this post – pandemic world

Highlights and learnings of the Panel discussion:

Current Education system cannot teach children to communicate effectively due to the academic pressures and other priorities

This causes a lot of confusion and come across more under confident in their careers as well as personal lives.

Most of the students make their career choices incorrectly and incoherently without checking on their skills and abilities.

In the pandemic and resulting isolation, students have reduced morale and lesser opportunities to better their communication.

More emphasis needs to be given in building Soft Skills such as communication, goal-orientation, confidence, etc. than only focusing on technical or academic skills

With all the sea-changes brought in the academic year 2020-21 by the Pandemic, the students have reduced interactions and find it moreover difficult to reach out to institutions who can guide them and clarify doubts on skill development. While students of Grades 10 and 12 are about to make their career choices, it is online live seminars like these that turn out as a blessing in disguise for a more informed choice of career and requisite soft skills.

Career Guidance seminars are conducted with the objective of giving advice, support and timely information for selecting the right stream after class 10th and 12th. Such seminars also help students to explore different career options and help you make the right career choice. The right coaching and exposure provided on Soft skills at this juncture will aid each student to regulate his efforts, behaviors and attitudes in making the right and balanced career choices.

While Nirmiti Academy is well known to counsel and provide right guidance to many students in the areas of Soft Skills and personal development for local, national and international students, we are thankful to the entire team of Credent TV and Shiksha Sarohar series to have invited Dipti Deepak, Founder Director to provide a balanced view on importance and need of Soft Skills for today’s generation.
