Virtual Diwali Celebrations - November 2020
COVID-19 came in and put a long respite to a lot of things, however one significant constant that hasn’t been dampened is festivities and celebrations! Time passes but special events are not forgotten and there has been no shortage of creative and imaginative ways humankind has found to praise and celebrate the ones we love and make them feel special. This pandemic came out of the blue and carried life to a virtual standstill.
Nowadays, with all of the social distancing going on, celebrations and festivities are presently more important than ever. #Virtualcelebration and gatherings are to stay here for a long while.
Nirmiti Academy introduced and celebrated its first ever #VirtualDiwaliCelebration this year. We have always considered it important to strengthen the feeling of harmony and fraternity during these festive times.
The main purpose of celebrating Diwali virtually this year has been to instill the values of communication, gratitude and creative thinking in the participants. As Nirmiti Academy created this online platform to bring participants from various batches together, the most useful and effective skill of communication helped them to get closer and be interactive with each other. We kick started our celebration with our active and fun-loving batch of alumni of our Personality Development Program. Along with the usual gup-shups and jokes, each one of them also shared their learnings during COVID-19.
The celebration kept going with the next batch of young and dynamic participants of our Online Personality Development and Online Spoken English Programs. As both the batches came together, the participants took great interest in knowing each other. Each participant contributed meaningfully towards the #SaluteOurHelpers initiative. All of them showed their deepest gratitude towards the helpers such as security guards, maids or the trash pickers in their lives, whose contributions often go unnoticed. It was with great happiness that every participant exhibited the best of their creativity skills in the making of Diyas and Greeting cards. Not only did the students make Diyas and Greeting cards, they also captured the happy moment of gifting it to the helpers whom they had to thank for working on the frontlines in protecting and keeping all of us safe.
The activity continued with even the little and young ones of our Public Speaking and Spoken English Batches. The kids showed a great amount of enthusiasm in the creative activities. Dressed up in their best Diwali outfit, the happy faces of the kids brought a real sunshine into the celebration. All the kids shared their thoughts of celebrating Diwali with a difference and making it a memorable event of their life.
As we emerge from COVID-19, connecting together and celebrating the festival is critical. This wonderful time spent virtually with our participants across the globe has allowed us all to reflect on more than just our celebration. As learning always continues, so will the celebration! #BeingThankful
